To get started, you must know your household income. Specifically, you’ll be asked for your allowable gross annual income. Gross income means a household's total, non-excluded income, before any deductions have been made. Use that income and our housing directory to explore your public housing options. If you identify a desirable unit, you should apply for public housing. If you do not, and would prefer to find your own housing, you should apply for Section 8 assistance.
If your household income exceeds the limits set here, you are not eligible for public housing or Section 8. Visit our Resources page for other options.
